Sharp introduces 37-inch LCD 1080 HDTV

We kinda thought they'd have a bigger showing at CeBIT than a single 37-inch 1080 HDTV, but hey, here it is, the Aquos LC-37GE1E. Apparently it's got a 1200:1 contrast ratio, dual HDMI-HDCP connectors, and a backlight that makes use of a crimson tone, which should supposedly result in more natural seeming color representation. No word on price or date of release, or even whether it's going to dethrone Fujitsu / Hitachi's 42-inch as the world's smallest 1080p display, but you'll know when we do.

Component problem on 32" LCD 1080

Q:

I just purchased a 32" LCD television and have hooked up my DVD player using the component cables included in the television package. The input menu will not allow me to select component (or any other input source for that matter) and when I push the component button it tells me there is no signal.

I followed the instructions for connection a component to the TV (unplug, wait to turn on the DVD player until the TV is on, etc...)

I do not have other cables to try or a different TV to hook the DVD player to. Any suggestions?

The television's model number is NS-32L450A11.

Thank you.

If the Input Sensor is ON, the TV will only let you choose, when pressing the INPUT button, between those inputs that have a signal, that's why you are not able to access the Component through that option. Just press Menu and select Settings option where you will find the Input Sensor that you should turn off.

Regarding the connection itself, make sure that you are connecting each color coded cable to the correct input on both ends, since an error on one connection will cause lost of image. You can also connect the Audio cables, and see if you get sound even when no picture is displayed. Lastly contact the player's manufacturer to check if there is any other setup to be done.
